Here is a report for our semi-final game for the state playoffs.
We traveled to Tolman High School for our big game on Thursday. The Team was real loose on the bus ride to the game, having fun and singing. I guess they were ready to play!
The game started out real well for the Huskies, who jumped out to a quick 10 to 0 score. The tone was set. Everyone of our athletes played super and I hope this carries over to Sunday.
The score at the end of first half was 38 to 13 and shades of the game against Middletown, on Tuesday, went thru my mind. We were ahead of Middletown 36 to 13 and they had a tremendous comeback. So I told the team we can't let our guard down, just go out a have a lot of fun in second half, and play hard.
Well they went out and had fun and did well. Our partners, all 7 of them, had a great game and played the way partners should. Well by now you should have figured we advanced to the State Championship game on Sunday at La Salle Academy. We will be playing against Woonsocket. Game time is 12:30 PM. Opening ceremonies begin at noon. One of our team members will be a flag bearer during the ceremony.
Sam Ward and Big Ben played very well today both on offense and defense. Sam had a big six in first half to help us out and Ben nailed a deuce and played great D
Final Score was
Mt Hope--63
Tolman --38
Leading the scoring parade
Pat Fraime with 20 points
Mylan Jackson with 18 points
Nick Fartura with 12 points
